I qualified from the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine as a Medical Doctor (MBChB) in 1997.
On completion of my internship and community service, I explored my opportunities in general practice for a few years. Part of this included practicing in the United Kingdom for about 2 years.
I commenced my training as an ENT Surgeon in 2004 at the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine. I spent 4 years studying the science and art of ENT at Addington, King Edward and Albert Luthuli Hospitals in Durban.
I obtained my specialist qualification (FCORL) in 2007 through the College of Medicine of South Africa.
I spent from 2007 until 2011 as a Specialist ENT Surgeon at Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban. I also spent significant time as the acting head of department. This was an amazing and fulfilling opportunity to see patients with a vast range ENT problems, and to gain extensive experience in treating these problems medically and surgically.
My training continues to be supplemented by attending conferences and courses on various aspects of ENT conducted by international experts.
I consider myself competent in in most aspects of ENT. I have a special interest in diseases of the ear, and am happy to assess and advise you further. I have also received training in cochlear implantation and in the past year have had the great joy of being able to implant profoundly deaf people and allow them to appreciate the sounds of the world and hear their loved ones again.
My priority is to put your healing needs first. I am proud to have a record providing a high quality level of patient care, medical experience, and commitment to health and wellness to all our patients. Our goal is to make you feel better as quickly as possible.
I look forward to being able to assist you with your ENT problems in a warm and friendly manner, placing your health needs as my priority.
